Playing In Polish/A Huge Drugstore Haul
Oh man. I'm out of control.
All the way to the left is Essie's Shine Of The Times. I am completely in love (OBSESSED) with flakies. I would love to have all the Finger Paints Special Effects, but I'm pretty sure there's not a Sally's nearby (aka "I don't know where one is and I don't want to take the time to find out"). I couldn't wait to get into the Essie though. I could go on about it all day...
So I started off like this.
Uh Oh Roll Down The Window (OPI)
Accent nail: Stranger Tides (OPI) with heart in above color.
Unfortunately, I was impatient because I had to leave for work soon so I ended up taking the tape off my ring fingers before my heart was 100% dry. It left the edges of the hearts sort of hairy looking so I decided to disguise it with gold glitter.
Gold Rush (Cover Girl)
It was that night that I went and bought all the polishes in the first picture so again, completely excited, I layered Shine Of The Times over the rest of my nails.
Can I just say again how much I love flakies???
Obviously I wished at this point that I had not used that gold glitter...
Then today I attempted the Ruffian Manicure. I've never seen it on short nails like mine, but I figured I'd try it out anyway.
The yellow is Let's Meet (Sinful Colors).
Hindsight says use a second coat of that yellow...
And of course because I love Shine Of The Times so much...
Shine Of The Times layered over Uh Oh Roll Down The Window.
Gratuitous bottle shot.
I'm still waiting on Disco Diva (Jessica) to get here... I only ordered it 5 days ago, but it's driving me CRAZY wishing it would show up!! I can't wait to try it out!!
Winter Flash Project
A couple months ago, I was contacted by a female tattooer named Dana Melissa Dixon about doing a painting project to pass the winter months. The idea is that she paints a piece or two on a sheet of flash, sends them out to other female tattooers, and they finish the sheet. I'm not very experienced using watercolors, but I was definitely down to try.
What she sent to me.
(Line drawings on sheet are mine. Panther/snake are hers.)
She sent me this nifty little package! The page on top is just a basic outline of what she was trying to do and the second page is a list of fun questions for all of us to answer.
Here are my drawings all lined out.
The day I got the package, I lined out nearly the whole rest of the page and answered nearly all the questions. I was super excited.
My answers to her questions ended up being 5 pages long!
I also decided to include a line drawing of one of my pieces of flash.
I've laid the black down on a few of the pieces (also some of the red). I'll post a picture when I'm done. :)
